Doubling his Group 1 tally and aided by a super ride by Zac Purton – ARTORIUS sliced through the field in a blockbuster finish. A great training performance by Antony Freedman and in this form – ARTORIUS is ready to take on the world once more.
Not to be outdone – homebred 4yo mare THALASSOPHILE becomes the latest stakes winning graduate of our Go Bloodstock breeding program with a last gasp win in the Group 3 Aspiration under a 10/10 ride from Craig Williams and 10/10 training performance from Chris Waller. A beautiful filly with a pedigree – THALASSOPHILE will make a lovely broodmare addition in time but has plenty more miles left in her tank.
Our exciting homebred 2yo colt RED RESISTANCE may have lost his unbeaten record but remains on track for the Golden Slipper where he will be at his peak and ready to run one hell of a race. An exciting two weeks ahead.
Final mention of the weekend goes to our Richard & Will Freedman trained stable veteran ON THE LEAD who is a horse in form and stormed home once more down the Flemington straight to just miss the win. Showing a liking for Melbourne – ON THE LEAD has been in great form and a great servant with career earnings north of $500k.
